Summer showcase of new work created for SPACE’s programme of socially engaged artist projects delivered in Hackney, Camden and Barking.

An exploration of change in Hackney Wick Fish Island beside the Olympic Park, where the Romans settled, the invading Danes raided the Anglo Saxon kingdom, and which fostered inventions in chemicals, dyes and petrol, Bakelite, dry cleaning; currently again at the vanguard of change.

ANIA DABROWSKA: ARLINGTON PORTRAITS

Work made during the artist’s residency at Arlington – a landmark homeless people’s hostel in Camden. Includes the discovery of the Lebanese Archive – collection of photographs 1890s – 1993 by Diab Alkarssifi and selected work by participants of the Creative Space programme.

JUNEAU PROJECTS: LONDON CALLING

In the event of global technological meltdown, could you survive? The artists challenged students from The Warren Comprehensive and Barking Abbey School to life without mobile phones or computers.
