Launch of Arlington, 10th June, 2010

The newly transformed Arlington is launched to the housing, government, press, and charity sectors, raising awareness of the scheme and the innovative approach to tackling homelessness. Modelled on New York City’s Time Square project created by Common Ground company, One Housing Group hopes to turn Arlington into an iconic, flagship scheme that will transform UK’s approach to homelessness, housing need, and employment.   SPACE artists studios, and in particular, the Creative Space programme run by the Artist in Residence, are part of what One Housing Group calls “social enterprise” scheme, alongside training spaces, a conference centre, and other creative enterprises.

Over 150 guests from the UK and US, including guests of honour, Mayor Boris Johnson, artist Tracey Emin, Kevin Beirne, One Housing Group Director, and Baroness Julia Neuberger DBE Chair, attend the opening and tour the building, which includes presentation of  the Creative Space programme at Ania Dabrowska’s studio.
